Whirlybird Math!

whirlybird

Let’s do some math involving measurement, predictions, and models! Kids are always interested in ‘flying things’ so this activity is perfect!

Motivate by telling your child by telling them that are going to take part in a parachute jump competition! Skydivers frequently have ‘accuracy competitions’ to see who can get the closest to a target. Since kids can really jump out of a perfectly good airplane, they can simulate by creating, testing and revising a Whirlybird!

How’s your accuracy? What did you change on your Whirlybird design to help you hit the target?

Take pictures of the project and send to me for posting!
