Erin Vandervelt
I grew up in Knoxville and attended Sacred Heart & then Webb through 10th grade. After 10th grade, I moved away for the next 22 years before returning back to Knoxville in 2018. For the remainder of high school, I was a Congressional Page in Washington, D.C. for Congressman Duncan in 11th grade, and 12th grade I spent in France. I studied Economics & Spanish in college and worked in Corporate & Investment Banking for several years before obtaining my MBA in marketing. My career since that time has been a hybrid between finance and marketing, and I consult with a number of diverse small and medium businesses. Math has always my favorite subject and I love kids (I have 5 beautiful nieces and nephews). In addition, I am an entrepreneur working on a business launch. I am very fiscally conservative and bootstrapping my way to launching my business. I love helping kids, seeing them improve, boosting their confidence, and inspiring them to dream big!
Educational Background:
Emory University (BA – Economics, Spanish), Wharton / UPenn (MBA – Marketing)
Favorite part of tutoring:
Seeing the results of helping these students – specifically, seeing them smile, get excited when they learn a new concept, and ultimately overall boosting their confidence! Also, there is nothing better than hearing a child’s laughter when they are having fun while learning 🙂
Fun Fact:
I love learning language and speak Spanish.
